What do you think of Russia's rising status as a world power?
Rising oil prices and a booming compactness, the Kremlin is once again flexing it's muscles. Putin realizes that Russia is once again a super power. He's following the old Russian habit, back to soviet style ambitions. Putin is gathering all power to himself. Russia is watching the former soviet nations, causing factious turmoil within these nations and planning to acquire them into states in the near future. Russia's back like it hasn't been since the ruin-up of the soviet union more powerful than ever.
Although the cold war is over why is there still tensions between the West and Russia?
Why is Russia's closest allies India and China but not western Europe or America?
Can there be a backer cold war turning into a 3 world war?
Softly and off the radar, Russia is rising steadily back into a super power. Putin is a very, very powerful man with ideas of returning to the days of the USSR. And affirm no mistake about it, he's more than capable.
I think the cold war started up again a few years ago. Where it goes from here, I guess time will depict.
As for WW III, I think it's inevitable that at some point tensions are going to flare, and we'll probably see Russia "bewitching back" some of it's former blocs while China moves on Taiwan.
Russia the world's new superpower!! What do you think?
Rising oil prices and a booming compactness, the kremlin is once again flexing it's muscles. Putin relaizes that russia is once again a super power. He's following the old russian lore, back to soviet style ambitions. Putin is gathering all power to himself. Russia is watching the former soviet nations, causing poltical turmoil within these nations and planning to win them into states in the near future. Russia's back like it hasen't been since the break-up of the soviet union, more formidable than ever.
India is like russia's little brother and china is like russia's middle fellow-man, help manufacturer india's 5th generation figher. Planning to help china in the technology applicants. Although russians are white they don't consider them selfs white, they hate europe and america.
What are your insights? Is this lofty or bad? Will there be another cold war? When russia gets very powerful in any way it seems, they always turn their backs on the west.
No. China is.
Rebel or Kremlin Rising
Rebel: The Autobiography and Times of John Singleton Mosby
Author: Kevin H Siepel
Rebel is the first complete biography of the Confederacy’s finest-known partisan commander, John Singleton Mosby, the “Gray Ghost.” A practicing attorney in Virginia and at first a unenthusiastic soldier, in 1861 Mosby took to soldiering with a vengeance, becoming one of the Confederate army’s highest-vignette officers, known especially for his cavalry battalion’s continued and effective harassment of Cartel armies in northern Virginia. Although hunted after the war and regarded, in fact, as the last Confederate officer to surrender, he later became anathema to former Confederates for his willingness to leave behind the past and his desire to heal the nation’s wounds. Appointed U.S. consul in Hong Kong, he shortly initiated an anticorruption campaign that ruined careers in the Far East and Washington. Then, following a stint as a railroad attorney in California, he surfaced again as a supervision investigator sent by President Theodore Roosevelt to tear down cattlemen’s fences on any lands in the West. Ironically, he ended his career as an attorney in the U.S. Department of Justice.
Washington CirculateSiepel has written the fullest biography of Mosby that we are likely to get. The guerrilla warfare is recounted here skillfully.
Palisade Street JournalA memorable account of a memorable maverick.
Atlanta JournalCrisply written, well researched, diverting.
ChoiceAs lively in its own way as Mosby's Civil War raids themselves. . . . A skillful example of popular biography.
Military ReassessA truly great historical work that easily holds the attention of the reader.
