Soviet Union?
In the Soviet Union did any director besides stalin kill people freely? He is known as possibly the most evil man that ever lived and the soviet union had the "catastrophic" label branded on it. So was the soviet union truly evil or was stalin the only corrupt one?
Lenin killed candidly as well. By the time he acquired absolute power, he was too ill and had too little time to perpetrate the kinds of massive purges that Stalin did, but he certainly shared Stalin's ideas about the worthlessness of individuals and the benefits of horror.
What was the Soviet Union doing during the Battle of the Bulge?
What was the Soviet Union doing? What was occasion before the Battle of the Bulge with the Soviet Union? What were they planning?
the Brawl of the Bulge was a major German offensive launched towards the end of World War II through the forested Ardennes Mountains pale of Belgium, France, and Luxembourg on the Western Front. the “bulge” was the initial incursion the Germans put into the Allies’ profile of advance, as seen in maps presented in contemporary newspapers.
the German offensive was supported by subordinate operations known as Unternehmen Bodenplatte, Unternehmen Greif, and Unternehmen Währung. Germany’s planned ideal for these operations was to split the British and American Allied line in half, capturing Antwerp, Belgium, and then operation to encircle and destroy four Allied armies, forcing the Western Allies to negotiate a peace contract in the Axis Powers’ favor.
the Germans planned the offensive with utmost secrecy, minimizing boom box traffic and conducting the movement of troops/ equipment under cover of darkness. although ULTRA suggested a attainable attack and the Third U.S. Army's intelligence staff predicted a major German offensive, the Germans still caught them by dumbfound. this was achieved by a combination of Allied overconfidence, preoccupation with their own offensive plans, poor aerial investigation, and the relative lack of combat contact by the First U.S. Army in an area considered a "quiet sector". almost finish surprise against a weak section of the Allies’ line was achieved during heavy overcast withstand, when the Allies’ strong air forces would be grounded.
German objectives ultimately were unrealized. in the wake of the rout, many experienced German units were left severely depleted of men and equipment, as survivors retreated to the defences of the Siegfried Crease. with over 800,000 men committed and over 19,000 killed, the Battle of the Bulge became the single biggest and bloodiest combat in U.S. history.
