What is the name of an 80s fast-paced club dance song that intro'd with a deafening police or fire siren?

It was a cool leap song. It was about 7 minutes long or longer. I don't remember hearing it on the radio. I'd only hear it at the clubs, circa '87-'88. I credit it was also a remake or cover song. I don't think it was ever a commerical hit nor did a video appear on MTV. I want to say it was called "Hanging On" or something to that take place. I know it was a house favorite with DJs in the latter 80s. And no, not Tiffany's songs nor American Soviets.
You dropped a bombshell on me baby, you dropped a bomb on me...........It didn't have sirens but it had sounds of bombs dropping........it was a weird dance song.....great beat.
