Understanding the Leupold varmint hunters reticule? Very hard question, much appreciated if ur skilled enough?

I by the skin of one's teeth purchased a Leupold VX-L 6.5-20X56 long range target rifle scope with the Varmint hunters reticule, and it tells me clutch over points for a 200 yard sight in. However what if I have it sighted at say 100 or 150 yards, what do the other hold over points assert in bullet drop, or how do I work out what each hold over point represents for a 100 or 150 yard phenomenon in? Im using a .270 WIN with a Barnes TSX 110gr and have it sighted at 150yards with a average velocity of approx. 2950fps, so can you please be influential me what the other hold over points now represent or tell me how to work it out please.
The book says that for a .270 130gr with a velocity of 3000fps and a notice in at 200yards, the 1st hold over point will be 300y, 2nd 400y, 3rd 500yards.
But im using a 110gr bullet a 2950fps and have it sighted at 150 yards, so what do my refuse a control over points now represent?
The first hold over point represents approx. 5.69" bullet take off, 2nd 17.30" drop, 3rd 36.80" bullet drop
I am a yearn time varmint and competition shooter.
Sounds like this scope is more than you can cope with. This is not a put down - it happens. There are many other less dear scopes with a BDC (bullet drop compensator) you can buy that will allow you to zero your rifle at 100 or 150 yards with the bullet of your realm of possibilities at the speed of your choice - and the scope will allow you to simply move the top turrent and get an accurate zero at 200, 300, 400 and 500 yards without a expand on over.
To make this Leupold work for you - it must be calibrated to your rifle - and you need two things to accomplish this. First - a 200 yard shooting selection. Second - a Chronograph - since you MUST use the EXACT bullet specified and it MUST fly at the exact speed Leupold recommends. You can't look at an ammo think up's specs and guess this. You need to know.
If you do not have access to a long enough range or a chronograph to tailor your ammo - give the scope. Then go look at the BDC models. A good example of how these works is the BSA "Sweet 22" for the 22 elongated rifle or the BSA "Sweet 223" for the 223 Remington.
If you cannot find a model with a turrent that is emend your caliber rifle or bullet - not to worry. Many of these scopes come with a blank white turrent so you can put out your own!. Or, you can use white paint over a useless turrent and mark it.
Hope this helps!

Zero the ransack at 200 yards. Then shoot at 300 with the suggested hold ove and measure the difference. You should find it very close or you'll be 1/2" merry at 300. Then shoot and measure at 400 and 500 yards.
Why do you refuse to zero at 200 yards?

What kind of Leupold should I use on my Remington 700P?

I am in a fork in the approach for whether or not I should get a Leupold M3 10x or if I should get a Mark 4 Lr-t 4.5-14x... Also what are the benefits of a 50mm radius rather than a 40mm radius lens.. Range will be anywhere from 100-700 yards...
I have a 4.5 to 14 goldring Vari-X 3 on a Rem 700 7mm mag and it works exceptionally well at the ranges you stated. I would get one with mill dots for the longer ranges. I've had mine for 5 years and have taken whitetails, mulies, and elk and had no problems getting my crosshairs on quarry with the 4.5 to 14. In my opinion the 10x starts a little to much magnification and reduces light gathering break of dawn morning and at dusk. I would go for the 4'5 to 14.....Hope this helps.
