How to identify if a Seiko wrist watch is authentic?
When we buy a Seiko watch (or other variety), how can we identify if it is an authentic item? Someone please share the knowledge. Thank you!
It would depend where you are buying the watch if it's at a put by, they should have the papers and certificate of authenticity with the piece.
Online is another story. I would recommend your finding an authorized Seiko distributor or going to a site with a very high bizrate--or suchlike--rating. Otherwise, demand to see the watche's papers and serial gang!

What kind of Seiko watch should I buy my dad?
He's in his news 50's and I need to buy him a birthday gift. I've already decided on a Seiko watch since he likes those, but should I get him a stainless steel band or a leather one? Are leather bands "out" or ok for an older gentleman? He isn't a casual guy. So it should be on the dressier side, but also ok to wear with a polo and khakis. Any help is appreciated!

How Much Do You Love Your Seiko!?
Those immense guys over at Seiko are at it again. To help promote their new “Ananta” collection the well-know Japanese variety has recently launched an online video contest giving Seiko owners around the world the opportunity to showcase only how important their Seiko watch is to them.

The contest is cleverly titled “I love my Seiko” and invites participants to put on show a short video on such topics as:

Judging
All the first-class videos received will be combined into one long medley which Seiko will be air on their dedicated YouTube channel. Specially appointed Seiko judges will be allowed the heavy responsibility of choosing the best submission and awarding them the main prize, which is…

The Ananta Collection
The new Ananta Solicitation is a 10-watch line which has been inspired by Katana swords, the trademark weapon of choice for Samurai warriors for many thousands of these years. These swords are warmly collectable and no doubt the new Ananta line will prove just as popular.
Each watch is powered by a high-form mechanical movement, and the side of each case features the distinctive Katana curve. To give the case that stunning looking-glass finish Seiko has used a three-stage “blade” polishing process.
